Should I push the date of my You Session back to allow time to complete your training course?

It is imperative that you get a good result in your You Session aptitude tests to ensure you progress to the next stage. As the typical failure rate for desired careers is roughly 90% it is likely that without training you will fall into this statistic. It is for this reason that we recommend that you do push back your You Session date in order to give you time to complete our training. Postponing a You Session is extremely common (conflicting school test dates and other unavoidable events) and won’t even be noticed on Defence Recruiting’s end, they will simply book you in for the next You Session date available. It is therefore a good idea to do this to ensure you have enough time to complete the training (the training takes one week on average to complete however you will receive one months access to the material). We have a pass rate of 98.3% therefore by completing our training you are basically guaranteeing your progression to the next stage with competitive results.

Do I need to pay a deposit for the OSB Preparation Package?

Yes, a deposit of $200 is required to secure your dates for the OSB Training Course. This is non-refundable and can be paid via direct deposit (details will be sent upon booking). This deposit secures the training room for you on the day that you require.

Where are the training courses conducted?

Our OSB training course is completed from our offices in Brisbane City, QLD. The aptitude training is now conducted online and as such from the convenience of your own home.

Is it normal to study for the aptitude test and interviews?

Yes it is entirely normal to study for the selection process. In fact the majority of applicants who don’t get through simply haven’t prepared enough. It is the unprepared candidates that that the selection process is designed to eliminate. For example, there is a large amount of year ten maths in the aptitude tests. Now if you fail does this mean you lack the skills to become a Pilot?  No! It probably means that you didn’t study hard enough in year ten math. Don’t listen to those people who tell you shouldn’t study, take the advice from applicants that have been through the selection process and received a high recommendation, study is everything!

When is the best time to do our preparation courses?

The best time to do aptitude training is at least one week BEFORE you attend your You Session or Additional Testing Day. This will give you enough time to consolidate the skills you learn on course. You will be required to complete a maths book prior to beginning the online training, this will ensure that you are up to speed with the basic maths that is required. Because of this it is important to book your online course a few days before you are going to attend. The OSB training package can be completed any time after the ‘You Session’. The more time you have to study the information presented in the OSB training package the better!

Is it possible to increase my score in the aptitude tests?

Yes it is entirely possible. As a matter of fact it is uncommon for our client’s scores to increase by less than 50%. That’s right, what we are saying is that if you do our training courses it is extremely likely that your scores will be improved by more than 50% by the end of the training! That’s how good our shortcuts, techniques and training systems are!

Typically how much do your clients improve?

Typically our client’s aptitude tests scores increase by upwards of 50%. As for the interviews, the techniques we teach will put you in a league of your own; you will truly shine in comparison to the other candidates sitting the OSB. The Interviewing Officers with be amazed at how closely your answers align with what they are searching for!

How long do I have access to the online training tests for?

You will have access to the online training tests for three months after you purchase your online training course. This is so you stay refreshed and your skills are polished right up until the day of your ‘You Session’ and ‘Additional Testing Day’.

I already score well in exams at school, why should I do your course?

First of all the exams you did at school are entirely different to the tests that you will complete throughout the selection process with Defence. Secondly, for those exams at school you would have done a large amount of study and it is that study that would have yielded you a good result. The same rules apply for the aptitude tests in the Defence Recruiting process, you must study the content that they assess, the better the study the better your result will be. At ADFmentors we offer you the BEST study course available and we show you at the completion (through the statistics that we gather on you throughout the process) how much you have improved because of it!

What is the dress code for the OSB training course?

The dress code for the OSB training course is business attire. You are required to wear the same clothing that you will wear at your interviews, this way we can provide you with feedback on what to change to improve your first impression.

Do I need to bring anything with me to the OSB Preparation Course?

Yes, you will need to bring all of your study notes. Apart from that everything you need will be provided for you. Just bring some lunch and snacks for throughout the day!

Do we offer a discount for our courses?

No! The courses are priced as low as possible, which is one of the reasons why we converted to online aptitude training. This way we no longer have to hire training facilities and thus could reduce the costs dramatically.

What is the most common reason that people do not get through the selection process?

To put it simply, the most common reason that candidates don’t get through the selection process is because they haven’t studied the right content or they haven’t studied hard enough. That is why we offer our courses that provide you with EXACTLY what you need to know. On top of this we teach you shortcuts and techniques that will put you ahead of the game so you receive results which will give you the best chance of being successful.
