During the recruiting process for the Australian Defence Force (ADF) you will be required to undertake a number of aptitude tests.
The amount of aptitude tests that you are required to take depends on what role you are applying for and what stream you are entering via. Regardless of what role you are applying for, all candidates entering the Defence Force are required to attend an ADF You Session. During the You Session all candidates are required to complete the You Session aptitude tests which are detailed below. Moving forward from the You Session some candidates will be required to undertake additional aptitude testing (this depends on the role you are applying for), such as Pilots.
You Session Aptitude Test
At your ADF You Session you will be required to complete a General Ability Test and a Mathematical Ability Test, two aptitude tests in total. The questions in this practice aptitude test incorporate examples of the types of questions you will experience during both tests on the day as well as the tight time requirements you must complete them in. So far we have maintained a pass rate of 100% for all of the clients that have undertaken our aptitude training.
Additional Testing Day Test
Candidates applying to be aircrew (Pilot, ACO, JBAC, etc) are required to do an Additional Testing Day after they complete their ADF You session (if they score well enough). On this day you will be required to complete a minimum of five different aptitude tests including instrument comprehension, tricky mental maths, aircraft speed and fuel calculations and much more. The practice test listed here provides an example of the types questions you can expect from the range of tests.
